Collectors often ask why a build takes between four and ten weeks. The honest answer is that a life-size R2-D2 is closer to a small vehicle than a figure: dozens of cast parts, a drive system, a wiring loom and several paint stages, each of which has to be right before the next one starts. This is the sequence every unit goes through.

1. Order and planning

We confirm your configuration – model, build, paint, upgrades, AI kits – and schedule the unit into the production programme. You receive a production number that stays with the droid for life.

2. Casting

All main and auxiliary parts are cast in high-density 8K resin and industrial polystone; structural pieces are CNC-cut from metal. Sensor and software configurations for your options are planned here too.

3. Surface preparation

Every part is filled and sanded until it is perfectly smooth. Paint only looks as good as the surface under it, so this stage is never rushed.

4. Mechanical and electronic assembly

Body, substructure, dome frame and leg joints are assembled; motor housings, cable routes and connection points are prepared for the electronics.

5. Painting and finishing

Parts are painted in the chosen colours with automotive-grade paints. If you chose custom weathering, this is where the dust, oil and wear go on – and where we send you photos for approval.

6. Final assembly

LEDs, motors, speakers and mainboards go in. Wiring is organised and labelled so every part remains serviceable for the life of the unit.

7. Quality control and testing

Paint and surfaces are inspected and touched up; sound, light, movement and every optional module are tested. AI-equipped units go through conversation and vision tests before they are approved.

8. Packaging and shipping

Each droid ships in a custom protective box with impact-absorbing foam, fully insured, via DHL, FedEx or UPS. Export and customs paperwork is handled by us – as artwork under HTS 9703, most destinations apply no duty.

9. Delivery and after-sales

Your R2 arrives with its manual and a Certificate of Authenticity carrying the wet signatures of the builders. From that day you have 30 days of no-questions returns and full insurance, two years of warranty, and lifetime paint, spare-parts and technical support.
