For years the question we heard most was “can he talk?”. With the V5 platform the answer is finally yes – and not through a phone app or a cloud subscription. The AI kits are hardware we install inside the droid, and everything runs onboard. Here is what each level does.

AI Voice Kit

A dedicated AI mainboard with its own speaker and microphone. It runs private large language models locally, so you talk to R2 the way you would talk to a person: ask him what time it is, tell him a story, ask him to play something, argue about the best Star Wars film. He answers in his own voice – beeps, whistles and words on the remote’s screen – and remembers the people he talks to.

Because the model runs inside the droid, nothing you say leaves the room. There is no account to create and no monthly fee.

AI Vision Kit

Adds multiple onboard cameras and gives R2 eyes. He sees the room, understands what is happening in it and recognises faces – yours, your family’s, regular visitors. This is what makes Sentry mode possible: R2 watches a doorway or a hall, reacts to passers-by, stops strangers with a suspicious whistle and jokes with friends he knows.

The Vision Kit builds on the Voice Kit, which is why it is offered as a bundle on the configurator.

AI Full Autonomous Kit

The complete package. The AI now commands R2’s own boards directly: he can roam a room on his own, search for an object or a person you name, follow you from room to room and operate every tool he has – dome modules, trays, side panels – when the situation calls for it. Ask him to “go find Deniz” and he will.

Which level is right for you?

• Voice – you want conversation and character. Perfect for a home cinema or a study.
• Voice + Vision – you want him to notice people. The most popular choice for homes with children and for offices.
• Voice + Vision + Autonomy – you want a droid that behaves like the one on screen. Events, showrooms, and collectors who want the full experience.
